What We Believe

We Are Apostolic

Our congregation is firmly rooted in the teachings of Christ and the apostles, built upon the inerrant Word of God. We embrace the Scriptures in their fullness, recognizing their unchanging and timeless nature. The Bible’s wisdom and guidance remain as applicable in our modern times as they were in ages past.

Baptism by Water and Spirit

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, as stated in Acts 2:38: “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.” We also believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, according to Acts 2:4: “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” Both water baptism and Spirit baptism are necessary for experiencing the new birth – being born again requires being baptized in water in Jesus’ name for forgiveness, as well as receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Oneness of God

There is one God who is infinite in power and holiness – omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. This one true God has revealed Himself as the Father in creation, the Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit in His comforting grace to those who trust in Him. As 2 Corinthians 3:17 states, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

God’s Word

The Bible is the inspired and infallible word of God, written by human authors who were moved by the Holy Spirit to record God’s revelation. As 2 Peter 1:20-21 states: “Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

Jesus’ Sacrificial Love

We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that after His resurrection, He ascended to heaven and sent the Holy Spirit, who was poured out in Jerusalem over 2,000 years ago as recorded in Acts 2:39 – “The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off–for all whom the Lord our God will call.” This same Holy Spirit continues to fill the hearts of those who diligently seek Him today.
